Sand Casting Process

Sand casting is one of the general casting methods, which has less manufacturing input and lower production cost.

Process steps.

1）Determine the shape and size of the parts to be cast, design a reasonable casting scheme, including taper, rounded corners and other lofting data.

2）According to the casting plan, choose the appropriate mold material and particle size of the sand mold, and the corresponding sand core.

3）The template is put into the mold, and filled with the corresponding sand material, compacted and vibrated to make it fully fit with the template and ensure the accuracy of the casting.

4）After the mold is opened and the template is removed, the two shells are assembled into a sand core. Then put the sand core in the correct position.

5）The molten iron is poured into the sand mold until the entire mould inside filled with it.

6）After the casting piece is cooled and cured, it is taken out of the sand box. Then do the surface treatment with cleaning and trimming.
